A handsome football player has proposed to one of Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton’s kids. Emma Jean Kelley’s boyfriend proposed in a picturesque setting, and the public is praising the “perfect” engagement. Full with joy, Kelley posted pictures from the amazing occasion on social media, which her friends later celebrated.
Emma Jean Kelley, the famous gymnast Mary Lou Retton’s daughter, is to be congratulated on her recent engagement to Hudson Clark! The 22-year-old posted a number of adorable photos from the happy occasion online on July 1, and her fans are ecstatic with her good news.
Kelley looked stunning in a tiny white lace dress and matching block heels for the momentous day, hinting at her impending marriage. Clark looked handsome in a light blue dress shirt, beige chinos, and suede loafers, matching the occasion’s formality.

The couple’s excitement at their engagement is evident in the carousel of pictures Kelley shared on Instagram, the cover photo of which reveals how happily startled Kelley was when Clark proposed.
Clark picked a stunning location to pop the question to his future wife-to-be, which was ideal for his plan to commit to his partner for life.

Pictures depict the content couple standing for photos in the middle of a stone platform encircled by tall trees and columns painted in cream. In one touching photo, Kelley is seen kissing Clark tenderly and putting her left hand lightly on his chest to display her gorgeous diamond ring.

Another features a beaming Kelley, gazing at Clark with love and happiness in his eyes as he puts the stunning stone on her ring finger while grinning broadly. In the sixth photo, Kelley is cradled by Clark in a protective hold as he towers over her in the couple’s embrace.

Further photos show additional shocked faces when Clark asks Kelley to marry him by opening the ring box. In the final picture, Kelley extends her left hand in front of the camera to give her fans another look at her stunning figure as the two kiss.

“IT’S ENGAGED! Couldn’t be more eager to follow God’s road in tandem with you! I adore you, my lifelong mate 💍💍🤍 Together, let us tackle this life! “🤞🏼🤞🏼,” Kelley wrote as the caption on her photo.
Like Kelley, her followers are overjoyed to hear of her engagement, and they praised, rejoiced, and congrats her in the post’s comments section. “Congrats [Emma]! You’re going to be the most beautiful bride ever!” remarked one admirer.

One more admirer exclaimed, “This is perfect.” One particularly tearful Instagram follower posted, “I’m still crying.” The child gymnast’s friends have also turned to Instagram to share their own pictures thanking Kelley and Clark, so it’s not only online spectators who are delighted about the news.
A carousel post with ten images from the celebration thrown in honor of the newly engaged pair over the weekend was shared on social media by the couple’s friend Jensen Scalzo.
Kelley was seen having a good time with her friends in group images that appeared to be from an outside party. More images featured Scalzo posing for pictures among other guests.
One particularly dramatic photo features Scalzo and Kelley in a side hug, with Kelley flashing her ring and grinning broadly as she points her hand directly at the camera.

Another captures a touching scene in which a group of Kelley’s friends encircle her and raise her left hand to highlight her engagement ring. Scalzo posted a picture with the comment, “10 photos from an 11/10 weekend ✨[…]”Happy wedding to my best friends 💍—cheers to the future Clarks 🥂!”
A third friend of Kelley’s and Clark’s, Blayre, posted three photos from the engagement party. In the first, she is seen holding Kelley’s left hand while they both grin for the camera. In the second, the group is posing together in the same picture that Scalzo published.

The final image shows Blayre posing beside Clark and Kelley. With her left hand extended in front of the camera, Kelley stood between Clark and Blayre, highlighting the soon-to-be bride in the picture.
Similar to Kelley’s other pals, Blayre included a brief but endearing note with each of her sentimental images. “Emma & Hud 4ever!!!! 💍,” Blayre wrote as the caption for her post.

“Had a great weekend honoring the most worthy individuals💌Congratulations, Em and Hud! I can’t wait to see how much your love grows. Love you forever!” said Morgan LeighAnn Mullet, another close relative of the couple.
Her images featured the woman and man of the hour, of course, as well as group shots and a few buddies having fun at what appeared to be a bar.
Another buddy, Maddie Jones, wrote a sweet email to Kelley and Clark saying, “OUR GIRL IS ENGAGED!!” I adore you both very much, Emma and Hud, and I look forward to your future together! To your eternal love, cheers [💍🥂 #FUTURECLARKS 🤭🤭.” Along with several photos from the event, she captioned this one.

In addition to the congratulations and well wishes, Frankie Price offered her own sweet ode to Kelley and Clark. She also said, “[I] will never get over this day […],” expressing her joy for her friends. #engaged Hud and Emma, YOU ARE LOVED! I hope for a lifetime of love and happiness for the two of you 💌.”
Zach Zimos, a friend, also published a memorial post with pictures of him and Clark having fun with their male squad. “A wonderful weekend spent honoring the future Clark’s with wonderful people! Zimos wrote in his caption, “🥂💍.”

For the couple, who are both University of Arkansas athletes, the future appears to be bright. Clark is a football player and was born on February 17, 2001; Kelley is a Level 10 gymnast.
Both have a lengthy history of being accomplished athletes. Both Clark’s parents graduated from Arkansas University, and his father is currently employed by the Dallas Cowboys as the Senior Director of Suites & Events.
His grandfather was Berryville’s head football coach for 27 years, during which time he was inducted into the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame. As the general public already knows, Kelley comes from a long line of gifted gymnasts.

Her sisters, in addition to her renowned mother, a gold medallist at the 1984 Summer Olympics, have all accomplished remarkable success in gymnastics. Kelley has also had a strong gymnastics record.
“After turning in the top scores in the vault (9.800) and floor (9.675) events,” she finished fourth in the all-around at the Texas State Championships in her first year as a Level 10 gymnast. She has also participated twice in the Star Struck Invitational and the 2019 Kurt Thomas Invitational.

Emma Jean Kelley takes after Mary Lou Retton in more ways than only following in her mother’s gymnastic footsteps. She also uses the sport to help and raise awareness for The Reynolds Cancer House and NWA Children’s Hospital. The public has referred to the mother and daughter as twins in the past.
Her mother’s twin is Emma. Fans noticed the remarkable similarity back in 2022 when Emma’s mother posted pictures of Emma on Instagram and congratulated her after her team won.
Many people shared their opinions in the comment area. Someone commented, “She looks just like you.” Someone else said, “Wonderful 👏👏👏 she’s your twin.” Another person said, “She smiles like you! Congrats!” exclaimed one fan, and “Beautiful! She has her mother’s smile!”
Like the 2022 photo, Emma’s post from last year (2023) featuring her mother attracted a lot of attention from her fans, many of whom emphasized their continued attractiveness and similarity.
