Shannen Doherty’s Final Wishes: Revealing Her Burial and Funeral Plans

Shannen Doherty Revealed Her Burial & Funeral Plans Before Her Death

Following a protracted and valiant fight with breast cancer, beloved actress Shannen Doherty, well known for her iconic roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed,” sadly passed away at the age of 53. She recently discussed the worst possible outcome for her condition and has been transparent about her experience with stage 4 cancer. The actress talked openly about her intentions for a memorial service in an interview.

Doherty recently disclosed that she wanted her funeral to be anything but depressing. She passed away lately. She wanted it to be a gathering to honor her life rather than a place to lament her passing.

“I don’t want people to be crying or people to want people to privately [be] like thank God that they’re just dead now,” she stated. If she had the option, she would prefer to host the memorial service in her house and turn it into a celebration.

In addition, she stated that she did not have a plan for where to scatter her ashes after cremation. Taking note of the “morbid topic,” she declared, “I want to be cremated.” “I want to be mixed with my dog, and I want to be mixed with my dad,” she stated.

In 2015, Doherty received her initial diagnosis of breast cancer. She had the required care and treatments, which included a mastectomy, in order to get rid of the growth. In 2019, the cancer resurfaced, despite the fact that it had gone into remission after two years.

She disclosed her metastatic stage 4 cancer the next year. Since then, she has raised awareness and money for research while being candid about her experience.

But for the actress, things were only going to get worse. She disclosed in June 2023 that the cancer had progressed to her brain and subsequently to her bones. Nevertheless, she made every effort to live each day as normally as possible. “I offer prayers. I pray for the things that are important to me without making excessive requests when I wake up and go to bed, she remarked.

Many of Doherty’s admirers and fellow cancer survivors were impressed by her bravery and candor in sharing her illness. Her departure is a great loss to the entertainment industry, since she was admired for her fortitude and bravery in the face of hardship in addition to her on-screen personas.
