Rashida Jones & Her Siblings: How Quincy Jones Was a Unique Father to Each of His Kids
Known for her parts in “Parks and Recreation” and “The Social Network,” the actress is one of seven children that the late producer Quincy Jones fathered. Although her siblings all achieved success in one way or another, she once acknowledged that her experience with their father was entirely different from theirs.
Though her brother and sisters have also made their mark in entertainment and other fields, despite their upbringing, Rashida Jones is perhaps the most well-known of Quincy Jones’ children. For instance, Quincy Jones III followed in his father’s footsteps, and Kidada Jones established herself in the fashion industry.

Actress Rashida Jones is the most well-known of her seven children.
Rashida is the youngest daughter of Quincy, who passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 91, and actress Peggy Lipton. She was raised in Bel Air after being born on February 25, 1976, in Los Angeles, California. But despite her wealth, the actress had to acknowledge that her parents’ mixed-race marriage made life difficult for her family.
However, Rashida attributes her ability to find her voice to them because they fostered confidence in her from a young age. She also admits that because she spent so much time at home with her father during her childhood, she was able to get the best of him, unlike her elder siblings.
The actress clarified:
“Each of them had a different parent in my dad. He was seldom around, I believe my older sister would claim. After my dad and their mother’s divorce, my siblings moved in with us, although my dad was always there for me. They grew up in Sweden.
Model Kidada Jones was romantically involved with Tupac Shakur.
Kidada, Rashida’s older sister, was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 22, 1974. They were brought up according to Reformed Jewish customs and have both parents in common.
Regretfully, Kidada struggled a lot as a child, particularly to fit in with her peers. By the time she was fifteen, she had been expelled from eleven schools as a result. When she started working with famous designer Tommy Hilfiger at the age of 19, things only got better.
Her greatest contribution has been to the fashion world, even if she has worked in other fields besides modeling, like acting.
She styled celebrities like the late Michael Jackson and worked for high-end publications like Elle and Vogue. It’s interesting to note that Kidada had been seeing Tupac Shakur for a few months before to his untimely death.
Kenya Kinski Jones: An Additional Promising Model
Rashida’s younger sibling is named Kenya. She was born in Los Angeles on February 9, 1993. Nastassja Kinski, a German model and actress who was dating Quincy at the time, is her mother. Kenya has two additional half-siblings from her mother’s side, namely Sonja Kinski, in addition to the six paternal half-siblings.
According to reports, Kenya graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Nonetheless, she has dedicated a significant portion of her career to walking the catwalk for some of the largest fashion brands in the world, such as Chanel, where she made her debut.
She was discovered by Bruce Weber, who had been her mother’s photographer and urged her to pursue modeling as a career. She thus signed with a number of agencies, including The Lions and Ford Models, Paris, and made appearances in a number of fashion magazines.
Jones III, Quincy: A Producer
The only brother of Rashida is Quincy Delight. Ulla Andersson, a Swedish mother, gave birth to him on December 23, 1968, and he grew up in Stockholm. Quincy Delight eventually entered the entertainment industry, just like his father.
At an early age, he became passionate about hip-hop, which he demonstrated by taking part in breakdancing tours. Quincy Delight received his first drum machine at the age of 13, which opened his eyes to the world of music production. He relocated to New York three years later in order to pursue a career as a music producer.
Quincy Delight had to work hard to succeed in the industry, even though his father was a well-known producer. To have a better understanding of studio technology, he enrolled at Berklee College of Music. He later collaborated with other well-known artists, such as Ice Cube and Dr. Dre.

Rashida’s older sister is Martina. Like Quincy Delight, she was raised in Sweden following their parents’ divorce in 1975, and they had the same mother.
She came back to the United States in her late teens and started taking dancing classes. Like some of her siblings, she eventually followed in her mother’s footsteps and pursued a career as a model. After leaving the catwalks, she pursued a career in photography.
She established a solid reputation for herself in the industry despite not becoming as well-known in her career as her younger sisters.
An animal veterinarian named Rachel Jones
Another of Rashida’s older siblings, Rachel, was born in 1963 as a result of Quincy’s liaison with Carol Reynolds following his divorce from Jeri Caldwell, his first wife.
Rachel is the only sibling of Rashida who did not pursue any of her parents’ vocations, despite the fact that her mother was a professional dancer. She chose a different route and became a veterinarian to treat animals.
She attended the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a degree in 1999. Later, she established an animal hospital in Los Angeles’ Marina del Rey.
Jolie Jones: A Protester
Jolie, Rashida’s oldest sibling, was born to Quincy’s first wife, Jeri. Although she didn’t become well-known for modeling like some of her younger siblings did, it was nevertheless a component of her professional development.
At the age of 15, she started down that road while working for Ford Models in New York. She later experimented with other interests, such as writing and singing. Later on, however, advocacy would become her true love.
She wants to raise awareness of the problems relating to people’s exposure to radio frequencies from commonplace devices like Wi-Fi routers and cell phones, among many others. This is due to the fact that she has an illness called electromagnetic hypersensitivity.
