Why Fans are Turning Away from the Highly Anticipated New Season of Yellowstone
Viewers Refuse to Watch the Long-Awaited New Season of ‘Yellowstone’ – Here’s Why
Due to a favorite star who has previously stated that she will not be returning to the show, viewers of “Yellowstone” are determined not to watch the much awaited new season.

The popular Western drama “Yellowstone” teased the release of the second half of its fifth season with a video released on its official Instagram account on June 20. Although their post’s menacing voice-over and eye-catching images were ideal for creating suspense among viewers, a particular alteration that impacted the cast has angered netizens.
In the Instagram post, fans were informed that “the epic return of Yellowstone” would air on Paramount Network this month (November) and featured the show’s iconic “Y” emblem surrounded by blazing orange flames.

A caption that read, “Save the date: November 10. #YellowstoneTV,” was posted. Online viewers voiced their complaints over the show’s return, which contrasted with the teaser’s enthusiastic tone and atmosphere.
Many have commented that it is useless to watch the new season of the show without Kevin Costner, a Hollywood classic, and that his absence has left them with a foul taste in their mouths. Without Kevin Costner, things won’t be the same.”I’m really depressed. 😭💔,” wrote an Instagram user.
“What’s the point without Kevin Costner?!” said another. “If Kevin Costner isn’t on this show, there’s no reason to [sic] watch it. Another person who also mentioned the show’s creator said, “Taylor Sheridan, you really messed up this one.”
One viewer, like the many others who believe Costner’s absence hurts the show, declared, “Passs! No Costner—no appearance! I apologize. while someone else said, “I won’t lie. Without Kevin, it’s not the same. 😢.
“Dead to me. No, Kevin, I’m not watching. What if he is passionate about performing in another show? That balance can be achieved by a leading performer. But for Sheridan, greed reigns supreme,” said another user who is furious about the circumstance.
However, other fans were thrilled to learn that the program would be returning, whether or not Costner was present. “At last! 🙌 Everyone is waiting for Beth and Rip to continue the drama on the ranch! A series fan wrote, “John will be missed, but let’s face it, Beth & Rip can hold this show for many seasons to come.” “I can’t wait!!!” was the simple statement of another admirer.

Costner posted a video on Instagram a day after the release of the new season teaser, announcing that he would not be returning to the show. Wearing sunglasses and a black cap, he stood against a background of green plants.
“Hello, everybody. The actor from “The Bodyguard” started, “I just wanted to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on “Horizon” and completing all the necessary tasks, while thinking about “Yellowstone” — that cherished series that I love and that I know you love — I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue until season five b or beyond.”
He reiterated his intense love for the series and continued by highlighting how “Yellowstone” transformed him as a person. “I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies,” said the actress.
Costner contextualized his video in an interview with USA Today after uploading the post, which went viral. The Hollywood star was then on a lengthy media tour to promote his brand-new Western movie series, “Horizon.”.
“Just the more I considered that, the more questions were being asked (about ‘Yellowstone’). “I wanted to clarify that this is a starting point,” Costner said.
“Maybe whatever I had hoped for was not in the cards,” he continued. I’m tired of saying, ‘Yeah, I hope I can do it.’ That has veered off course to a point where I no longer believe it to be realistic.
Costner also explained in the same interview that he made the video because of nothing specific that Sheridan or Paramount Studios had done. Rather, his post was intended to convey that he was done harboring unrealistic expectations for his homecoming.
“I only wanted to finish that. I’m not a computer attempting to solve this problem. However, I don’t leave folks high and dry,” Costner revealed.
The show centers on the life of a Montana ranching family who frequently engage in confrontations with those who are infringing on their property, and Costner has been a mainstay since his debut in 2018.
Many people adore his portrayal as John Dutton III, the father of the Dutton family and owner of one of the largest cattle ranches in the United States. His other cast members have also discussed Costner’s role; one of them brought up the actor’s departure from the program.
The well-known actor Luke Grimes, who portrays Costner’s on-screen son Kayce Dutton, previously talked candidly about the experience in an interview with People magazine.
Grimes revealed, “Him not coming back felt like, ‘Okay, we’re going to have to land this plane now for real’ […] It definitely felt different.” Grimes described the experience of his absence from the stage.

“I think the patriarch leaving was always going to be part of the story,” Grimes remarked, acknowledging the change that Costner’s departure brought about. It always went somewhere along the lines of, “What do these kids do? When their rock disappears, what does this family do?
