Kari Lake Bids Farewell, Announces She Won’t Run for Office Again
Kari Lake Declares She Won’t Run for Office Again — Blames ‘Corrupt Machine’ Which is ‘Hellbent’ On Keeping Her Out
Following the failure of two runs for statewide office in Arizona, Kari Lake has stated that she would not proceed with a third attempt to run for political office.
A “corrupt machine” in the state, which she believes is working against her, was the target of a rant that the candidate for governor in 2022 and the candidate for the United States Senate in 2024 posted on X on a Saturday afternoon.
“I will never take that for granted,” Lake wrote. “We are aware of the movement that we have in Arizona,” he said. “However, there is a corrupt machine in this place that is determined to ensure that I never receive a position of authority. Therefore, I will not allow myself and my family to go through the agony of running once more.
There was a moment in January 2024 when the now-defeated candidate revealed an audio recording of former state party chair Jeff DeWit, in which he seemed to ask her to identify a price at which she would abandon her 2024 senate run. The phrase appeared to be, in part, an allusion to that event, which became notorious for its terrible reputation.

However, voters in Arizona have now rejected Kari Lake on two separate occasions. Following her loss to Governor Katie Hobbs (Democrat of Arizona) in 2022, she voiced her disapproval of voter fraud on multiple occasions. Not only did Lake lose to Senator-elect Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) by more than two points, but she also ran more than seven points behind President-elect Donald Trump in the state of Arizona in 2024. This made it difficult for Lake to file any charges of fraud.
On December 11th, President Trump made the announcement that he had selected Lake to fill the position of Director of Voice of America, which is the state media institution that receives funding from the United States government. According to Lake, who has previously worked as a news anchor, she expressed her excitement about the next task on Saturday.
The following is an excerpt from what Lake wrote: “I will go to Washington, D.C., return [Voice of America] to its glory days, and help President Trump Make America Great Again.”
