Trump Officials Face Hiring Crisis After Letting Go Key Workers Overseeing US Weapon Stockpile

Donald Trump officials struggle to rehire workers after allegedly firing hundreds without realizing they oversee the US weapon stockpile

‘Remake America’s federal workforce’ was the subject of an executive order that was approved by the President of the United States.

According to reports, the workforce optimization project initiated by Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is reversing its course and attempting to rehire employees who were responsible for monitoring the nuclear stockpile of the United States.

The implementation of an executive order by President Trump of the United States to “reform the federal workforce to better serve Americans” is not exactly working to “better serve Americans” as he had anticipated it would. A number of employees at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) were terminated, and it is stated that the officials did not realize that they were responsible for “overseeing the nuclear stockpile.”

An information document that was published on the internet by the White House on February 11 provides specifics of the plans that the Trump administration has for “reforming the federal workforce to better serve Americans.”

One of the ways that the executive order asserts that it would “make the federal workforce more efficient and effective” is by conferring with the Department of Defense in order to “shrink the size of the federal workforce and limit hiring to essential positions.” According to the executive order, this will “significantly reduce the size of the government.”

As a matter of fact, on February 14, Reuters reported that two sources verified that the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) had terminated the employment of more than 300 employees, with termination notices apparently being distributed on February 13.

In a statement to CNN, a spokesman for the Energy Department has refuted this number and stated that the number is substantially smaller.

The spokesperson stated that the number of workers who were terminated was “less than fifty,” and that these individuals “held primarily administrative and clerical roles.”

Congress was ‘freaking out because it looks DOE didn’t truly grasp NNSA oversees the nuclear stockpile,’ according to a second person who spoke to the site.

Period. The nuclear deterrence is the pillar upon which the security and stability of the United States are built. For there to be any even very little holes poked even in the maintenance of that deterrence should be tremendously terrifying to individuals,” they continued.

It is clear that officials are now realizing that they made a mistake when they fired even some employees who assist in the management of the United States nuclear weapons fleet. This is evident from the fact that they are making a valiant effort to reinstate these employees, as evidenced by an email obtained by NBC news that reveals they are having difficulty determining how to get in touch with the employees.

It has been stated that the following is the content of the email that was sent to employees of the National Security Agency (NSA): “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to meet with those personnel.”

“Please work with your supervisors to send this information (once you get it) to people’s personal contact emails.”

Moreover, a nuclear safety specialist who was terminated from her position at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNS) on Thursday stated to NBC News that she was still unable to access her emails, but that her boss had contacted her to let her know that the termination letter had been “rescinded.”

Even while she has stated that she will return, she has also mentioned that she will be leaving “as soon as [she] finds[s] another role.”
