Musk Claims Biden Turned Down His Offer to Assist Stranded Astronauts
Musk Says Biden Rejected His Offer To Help Return Stranded Astronauts
Elon Musk, the chair of the DOGE, got into an online dispute with a Danish astronaut this week over a claim that the billionaire inventor of SpaceX made about an offer that was made to the administration of Vice President Joe Biden, but it was rejected for what he referred to as “political reasons.”
Following remarks made by Musk during a pre-recorded, joint interview with President Donald Trump that was shown on Fox News on Tuesday, European astronaut Andreas Mogensen and Musk engaged in a back-and-forth online exchange of insults against one another.

A question was posed to the two individuals regarding NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stationed at the International Space Station for the past eight months.
This is because their Boeing spacecraft experienced problems during its initial crewed test mission.
Musk stated that “they were left up there for political reasons,” implying that the government of Vice President Joe Biden left them there for a longer period of time than was required.

Defending himself against Musk’s assertion, Mogensen, who made history in 2015 by becoming the first Danish citizen to go into space, posted, “What a lie. And this comes from someone who, in the mainstream media, complains about the lack of honesty that they receive.

However, Musk would not allow that to continue.
In his writing, he stated that SpaceX had the ability to bring them back several months earlier. “I made this offer directly to the administration of Vice President Joe Biden, but they declined it. A delay in return was imposed due to political considerations. The idiot”
Following a response that came thirteen minutes later, Mogensen, who has previously been to and from the International Space Station using a SpaceX rocket and capsule, stated that he had “long admired” Musk’s achievements.

“You know as well as I do that Butch and Suni are returning with Crew-9, as has been the plan since last September,” he stated on X, referring to the plan that NASA has to bring Wilmore and Williams back to Earth with two crew members who are now stationed on the space station. “Even at this moment, you are not placing a rescue ship in the sky to bring them back home. They will be returning in the Dragon spacecraft, which has been stationed on the International Space Station since September of last year.
“We are focused on safely executing our crew rotation missions and work aboard the International Space Station for the benefit of humanity and future long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars,” the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recently stated.

After that, retired Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, who had been in charge of the International Space Station in 2013, posted the following: “Suni and Butch have never been’stranded’ in space.” To the same extent that all professional astronauts are, they are well-prepared and dedicated to the mission. According to Suni’s commander of the Space Station, they are participating in spacewalks, exerting a lot of effort on behalf of NASA and all of their partners, and having the time of their life.
However, the claims that contradict Musk do not fit up with the reports that have been made in the past concerning the circumstances under the Biden administration.
According to NBC News, Wilmore and Williams traveled to the International Space Station in June aboard the Starliner spaceship manufactured by Boeing. They intended to stay approximately one week at the station as part of the test voyage.
However, the capsule encountered a number of problems, which resulted in the astronauts having to remain at the space station for a longer period of time than they had anticipated. At the end of September, NASA made the decision to bring the Starliner back to Earth without any crew members on board.

DailyMail.com stated that the “stranded NASA astronauts” declared they “needed to come back” in what the publication described as a “desperate plea” to the space agency. This information was reported just one week ago.
On June 5, 2024, Williams and Wilmore embarked on their journey to the International Space Station (ISS) onboard the Starliner spacecraft manufactured by Boeing. Their intention was to remain there for a duration of eight days.
On the other hand, the capsule experienced problems from the moment it was launched until the time it docked with the International Space Station on June 6.
Following a series of tests that lasted for several weeks, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) ultimately came to the conclusion that the Starliner spacecraft was not secure enough to transport humans back to Earth. As a result, in September, the spaceship was returned to Earth without any passengers.
“NASA’s two stuck astronauts take their first spacewalk together,” was the title that appeared in an article published by The Associated Press three weeks ago.
Unbelievably, the present crew of the International Space Station will be picked up and transported down to Earth on a SpaceX craft called the Dragon the following month.
