Donald Trump Issues Warning to Major Canadian Business Over Tariffs

Donald Trump warns he will ‘shut down’ one major business in Canada if they don’t make extreme change to tariffs

It came at the same time that he increased duties on two Canadian items by a factor of two.

As Trump discloses what his next step will be, the trade war that is taking place between the United States of America and Canada shows no signs of calming down.

The newly implemented tariffs by Donald Trump are a reaction to the provincial government of Ontario’s decision to increase the prices of power that is exported to the United States.

Trump had informed the nation in the past that the United States would take retaliatory action.

Trump provided an explanation of how he would be retaliating against Canada by posting on his own social media network, which is called Truth Social.

The following is an excerpt from what he wrote: “In light of the fact that Ontario, Canada, has imposed a 25% tariff on “Electricity” that is imported into the United States, I have instructed my Secretary of Commerce to impose an additional 25% tariff, bringing the total to 50%, on all steel and aluminum that is imported into the United States from Canada, which is one of the countries with the highest tariffs anywhere in the world.”

Additionally, Trump asked that Canada make some adjustments; if they did not comply, he would continue to exert their influence over the country.

His next statement was as follows: “This will become effective TOMORROW MORNING, on March 12 ” Also, Canada must immediately remove its anti-American farmer tariff, which ranges from 250% to 390% and applies to a variety of dairy products from the United States.

This tariff has been regarded as excessive for a long time.

I will shortly be announcing that a National Emergency on Electricity has been declared inside the area that is being threatened. Consequently, this will make it possible for the United States to swiftly take the necessary steps to mitigate the harmful threat posed by Canada.

In addition, Trump made it quite apparent that these new measures are merely the beginning of the process, and he warned that additional tariff increases may be implemented in April.

In addition to this, he disclosed that he was ready to “permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada.”

After that, he continued his statement by saying, “If other egregious, long-time tariffs are not dropped by Canada in the same manner, I will significantly increase, on April 2nd, the Tariffs on Cars coming into the United States, which will, in essence, permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada.”

“It would not be difficult to manufacture those automobiles in the United States! Additionally, Canada is dependent on the United States for military defense, and there is a very low level of funding allocated to national security.

In order to avoid further trade war concerns, he once again advocated for Canada to become the 51st state of the United States of America, which is something that has shown to be unpopular in the nation.

In the final statement of his tirade, Trump stated,

“The only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty First State.

” If this were to occur, all tariffs and other forms of taxation would be eliminated entirely.

“The taxes paid by Canadians will be significantly reduced, they will be more secure, both militarily and otherwise, than they have ever been before, there will be no longer be a problem with the Northern Border, and the nation that is the most powerful and the greatest in the world will be larger, better, and stronger than it has ever been.”
