Celebrities at the Met Gala Spark Buzz Over Dramatic Weight Loss — Doctors Weigh In on the Ozempic Trend

Ozempic at the Met Gala: 5 Celebs Who Reportedly Show Drastic Weight Loss — Hollywood Doctors Speak Out

During this month’s Met Gala, all of the celebrities wore extravagant attire. But several of the celebs there started talking about taking a certain drug to lose weight. Take a peek at what medical professionals said about them.

The following celebrities’ before-and-after photos demonstrate their weight loss over time. Despite being suspected of using Ozempic, these celebrities have looked into other ways to keep their weight in check.

Stars looked leaner than ever as they celebrated Black history at the Met Gala on May 5, 2025. Five of the celebs may be using Ozempic to lose weight, according to a doctor’s speculation.

“The trend toward a lean, elegant, and natural-looking physique stood out across the board this year,” stated board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gaurav Bharti. “It’s definitely the hottest style right now,” he continued.

Many people in Hollywood probably use Ozempic or other GLP-1 medicines, even in microdose form.

Doctors have made educated guesses about which celebrities may have used the drug based only on pictures from recent events.

Here is what we know about these celebrities’ weight loss adventures and what experts have to say.

Kaling Mindy

Mindy Kaling looked noticeably thinner at the Met, which led some to speculate that she may have used Ozempic to lose weight.

But the 43-year-old said in May 2023 that she has made a commitment to a fitness journey. She clarified that her commitment to health had given her more self-assurance.

“I’m feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I’ve been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately,” the actress remarked, discussing her experience. “I feel great.”

The author of “Never Have I Ever” thought it nice that people were interested in the changes to her body.

She acknowledged that it could be too much to handle, though, so she decides to disregard part of the attention. She responded, “The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy.”

Running and hiking help Kaling stay healthy; she logs roughly 20 miles of activity every week. She and her trainer also concentrate on lifting weights.

She supports her fitness regimen by exercising sensibly while enjoying eating out and exploring new foods.

Born on June 24, 1979, the producer and writer recognized that this commitment is significant, particularly as she raises her son, Spencer Avu, and daughter, Katherine “Kit” Swati.

“It’s hard with two kids that I wake up really early and I fit it in — and I basically live in workout clothes so I can get it in, get an extra mile in,” she said. She went on, “I just remind myself that I have to run or hike about 20 kilometers a week. I’ve found that to be really beneficial.

She claimed to have lost forty pounds that year and credited exercise for the change. She claimed that part of her weekly exercise involved lifting weights with her trainer and jogging 20 miles.

According to Bharti, “It’s likely that Mindy has incorporated agents like Ozempic into her routine to prepare for the Met Gala [as she] showed a noticeable transformation since her last major public appearances.”

Kaling, however, has previously underlined that her new physique is the consequence of rigorous exercise, saying,

“I wish there was something more juicy or more dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but that’s the way I’ve done it.”

She said in 2022 that a mental change, in addition to physical work, was the key to her achievement.

In the month of May that year, she stated, “I’ve tried really hard to let go of this idea of losing weight for vanity reasons and really trying to think of how I can be healthy.”

She went on, “And for me, being healthy is exercising, moving around a lot, drinking enough of water, and not having bad connotations about exercising that make me feel like I won’t be anything else if I don’t do this.

And it’s taken a while to sort of let go of those outdated notions about exercising.”

Although she has valued health since her early twenties, Kaling clarified that she no longer sees exercise as a kind of punishment. When she was younger, she remembered being too strict about her exercise regimen.

“It was like 45 minutes on the treadmill, seven minute [sic] mile, it needed to be punishing, I needed to hate it,” she stated. The author and screenwriter talked about her diet, exercise regimen, and the importance of putting one’s health and body positivity first in May 2024.

“I think that if I can get in about 15 to 20 miles of walking a week, I have mental clarity, I feel like I get better sleep at night,” the “Mindy Project” alumnus said, describing how she feels her best when she meets her fitness objectives. That has therefore always been crucial for me.

Hoka sneakers are her go-to walking shoes since they fit her foot shape perfectly and she likes them. She used to run, but she said it needed to be followed right away by a shower.

She clarified, “I can’t be taking five showers a day,” due to her busy schedule, so she makes an effort to fit in walks throughout the day. While on the phone, she frequently goes for walks.

Kaling usually walks and moves for three to five miles every day while listening to music. Strength training is another aspect of the actress’s fitness routine.

She remembered hearing as a child that “you lose muscle mass as you age.” You must begin lifting.

Although being thin was the main goal at the time, she now views fitness differently. Strength training is now the main focus of her fitness regimen, which she now understands to be crucial.

She stated she has discovered what works for her in terms of food, such as consuming less dairy and red meat and more leafy greens.

She also follows an eating plan to help her stay on course, particularly when she’s under stress and prone to making bad decisions.

She acknowledges that her healthy eating regimen isn’t always successful, though.

She described herself as a “work in progress,” stating, “Sometimes I’m better at it than other times, but now I’m way more motivated [to eat healthy] because I have kids.”

Kidman, Nicole

Nicole Kidman showed up at the Met in a backless black gown. In response to Ozempic speculation, Bharti stated that the actress, who is 57 years old, had kept her “signature slim figure for years.”

He stated, “It’s likely that medications like Ozempic, paired with lifestyle and dietary changes, are playing a role here.

” The physician said, “Use of these agents in a sustainable fashion can lead to amazing transformations that are long-term, sustainable and look elegant.”

Kidman previously discussed her fitness in 2013, stating that she places a high value on her health. “You have nothing if you don’t have your health,” she clarified. Thus, that comes first.

“I do yoga, and I run, and I meditate,” she added, juggling her health with her obligations, which include a spouse, two little children, and a job. I eat healthily and take excellent care of myself.”

She did admit, though, that she was practical about excesses. “With Keith, I board the tour bus. The bus is loaded with junk food.

“I simply don’t believe in denial,” she remarked. Kidman strives for a “80 percent healthy” lifestyle because she believes in balance.

She also runs, a habit she developed as a child, to stay in shape. She described how her father used to wake them up early to run laps because her family was a marathon running family.

She remembered her father dragging her out of bed and forcing them to run “laps of the oval.” The actress revealed, “I simply turn on my music and leave.

” I enjoy living in Nashville because it allows me to go into the woods. Additionally, Sydney has a beach that is great for running on.

In response to a Dallas, Texas, fan’s inquiry about her peculiarities, Kidman mentioned how much she and her husband Keith Urban enjoy coffee.

“They know me now at the Starbucks in Nashville,” she continued, adding that she prefers the “foam more than the coffee” and requests cappuccinos with the request that they “make it all foam and very little coffee.”

Scherzinger, Nicole

In keeping with the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme, Nicole Scherzinger donned a glittering pinstripe gown designed by Prabal Gurung.

People wondered if she had “Ozempic face,” a term used to describe facial alterations brought on by fast weight loss by cosmetic and celebrity dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank.

The phrase describes the sagging skin, sunken eyes, wrinkles, and lines brought on by abrupt and severe weight loss.

A plastic surgeon from New York named Dr. Jimmy Sung said, “Nicole was able to achieve a healthy weight loss ahead of the Met, likely with the help of GPL-1.”

Sung clarified that her dark complexion, which has more fat and collagen and might have avoided the deflated look that other users encounter, helped her transition smoothly.

Scherzinger addressed her exercise regimen in 2023, defying rumors. She admitted that she likes to alter up her workouts, but she was particularly interested in HIIT sessions that included both cardio and weights.

To keep her body interested, the celebrity said she tried a variety of exercises like SoulCycle, climbing, boxing, and dance aerobics.

She works out on a treadmill, does weight circuits, and does more cardio. She stated, “I feel like I get more results that way.”

She works out three to six times a week on average, but she also occasionally chooses to go for long walks outside. She underlined, “You need that balance; you can’t grind all the time.”

Scherzinger acknowledged that despite her commitment, food is her “love language.” She continued, “I’m not on the grind as much with my workouts, so I’m intermittent fasting.

” The singer usually eats breakfast for lunch and begins her day with drinks like Vadham’s Mint Melody Green tea or their Turmeric Spiced Herbal blend.

Eggs, bread, smoked salmon or ham, sliced cherry tomatoes, and avocado are typically included in her breakfast

Her favorite snacks include frozen fruit, raw almonds, and smoothies made with oat milk and turmeric, which has anti-inflammatory properties.

She uses Cheetos or salt and vinegar potato chips when she’s in the mood for something savory. She eats slow-releasing carbohydrates and protein-rich salads.

She eats simple meals at home, such as gluten-free spaghetti or chicken or fish with rice and vegetables.

Desserts, particularly those with cream cheese icing, are her favorite way to finish meals. “I love red velvet cake with cream cheese icing; carrot cake with cream cheese icing…” she stated, before adding, “I love muffins and cakes.”

She like dark chocolate, especially with almonds and sea salt, to indulge in sweets without too much fat and sugar. She frequently has herbal tea after dessert.

She posted videos of herself working out on Instagram in August 2022 and April 2024. In the second, she was working out with a kettlebell, a bench, and weights.

Vera Wang’s appearance at the Met raised concerns from experts, who pointed out her drooping eyes, exposed neck bones, and sagging skin.

Bharti made the following observation on the 75-year-old: “Vera Wang has historically been fairly lean, but does look even slimmer compared to her past photos.”

He guessed that it might be due to aging or Ozempic use. Bharti said, “In non-obese patients, noticeable weight loss can result in skin that loses its turgor, causing it to appear deflated or lax.”

Following Paris Fashion Week, Vera Wang was placed into quarantine in Miami due of the COVID-19 epidemic. Her “workday fashion family,” with whom she remained, pushed her to continue being active.

“Being restricted can bring so many positive and different nuances to the experience if you are lucky enough to be with a group of people you know so well and have traveled with so extensively,” she said. Their amazing fitness motivated me to “work out” most days.

The fashion designer also posted a picture of herself wearing white heels and Adidas athleisure while resting on a treadmill.

Regarding the image, she stated, “It captures my own struggle between adoring athleisure apparel and being terrified of the treadmill! All right. “My personal irony: high-heeled pumps meet lycra/poly.”

Chopra Priyanka

At the Met, Priyanka Chopra’s face didn’t appear to be thinning or sagging. Because of this, Bharti thought the 42-year-old might be taking modest amounts of Ozempic.

He stated, “Priyanka Chopra appears to be leaner than recent images, likely indicating potential Ozempic use paired with physical training and a consistent diet.”

Chopra acknowledged in 2023 that although she now feels comfortable wearing crop tops, she used to be hesitant about it.

After preparing for a film, the actress, producer, and Miss World 2000 winner claimed to have a newfound respect for her abs.

She revealed, “I recently had a long-awaited return of my abs while I was training for a movie. I hadn’t felt comfortable wearing crop tops and similar clothing.

She eventually conquered her doubts. I’m going to push myself,’ she added, remembering the occasion. She then “turned around and added that into my wardrobe a lot more.”

The Met Gala reflected changing discussions about image, self-presentation, and health in addition to being a celebration of fashion.

Public personalities’ experiences with criticism and conjecture underscore the intricate relationship between individual wellness decisions and social norms.
