Engaged Couple Pass Away Just Hours Apart, Leaving Behind Young Son
Engaged Couple Tragically Died Hours Apart, Leaving Behind 4-Year-Old Son
They had just been engaged, were in love, and were parenting their child while simultaneously constructing a future together.
However, in the span of only a few short hours, everything changed; two lives were taken, and a young boy was left behind.

The tragic end of a couple who were on the verge of beginning a new life together occurred just a few hours apart. While Alexus Lee and John “JR” Collins were trying to raise their small kid and dream about the future, they were also making preparations for their wedding.
In spite of this, both of them were tragically killed in two distinct occurrences, which was a sad twist of fate.
At this time, their son, who is four years old, is left behind, surrounded by members of their family who are grieving and attempting to make sense of the tragedy.
In the aftermath of the horrific event, JR Collins’s father, Arthur Collins, maintained his composure while he came to terms with the loss. “I love them and I’m gonna miss both of them and I’m gonna find the strength to go ahead,” he stated to reporters.
In the face of profound grief, both families came together to memorialize the couple who had passed away. As they were joined together by agony but united in love, they hugged one other tight.

The young couple’s whirlwind courtship, which is now cruelly incomplete, was a topic of conversation between JR’s parents, Arthur and Sandra Collins, who recounted their memories of the young pair.
“He loved Alexus as well as everybody else who knew her,” replied Sandra in response. Dominique Lee, who is Alexus’s sister, continued by saying, “It was a much different feeling.” With tears streaming down her face, she added, “It’s as if I know a part of me has been taken away.”

Although Alexus and JR had intended to get married in February of 2026, both of them passed away in a sad chain of events that took place over the course of the night on May 16th.
It has been reported by state police that Alexus was driving her SUV along Plank Road in Zachary, close to Lemon Road, when she somehow lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle went off the road, collided with a culvert, and then flipped over during the accident. In addition to the dispatching of emergency personnel, investigators reached out to JR in order to alert him about the collision. In utter disbelief, JR made his way to the location. However, another tragedy occurred.

According to reports, he lost control of his vehicle before it collided with a tree while he was driving along Plank Road, which is located just outside of the town of Clinton. He died at the scene of the accident after being thrown from the vehicle.
At the time of the collisions, neither Alexus nor JR had been wearing a seatbelt, according to the troopers who investigated the incident.
Because of this, their son Gabriel, who is only four years old, is now in the care of members of their family who are grieving.
The mother of JR stated that her son is aware of what took place, but that he is having difficulty comprehending the inevitability of the loss. She divulged that “He is aware that they are sleeping.”

Sandra also mentioned that her husband and wife have a wonderful support system, despite the fact that they have to leave their son behind.
“The two families will blend, and we will do whatever it takes to give him a good life,” she stated to reporters.
In a moment that brought Alexus an enormous amount of delight, JR proposed to her in June of the previous year, which was just a year ago.
It was on her 25th birthday that he decided to ask her the question, and Alexus did not waste any time in breaking the news to her.
On Facebook, she proudly displayed her engagement ring and expressed her love for JR. She also expressed her affection for JR

She wrote in her article with a sense of enthusiasm and affection, referring to him as her partner through all of life’s ups and downs, and she happily referred to herself as “Mrs. Collins to be.”

The celebration was attended by their friends and relatives. It was a moment that was full with promising prospects, a future that they were constructing one significant achievement at a time.
Having recently purchased a new house, the couple was filled with hopes, goals, and an unwavering love for one another.
There was more to Alexus than being a mother and a partner. She had recently graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and had begun her career as a teacher at East Feliciana STEAM Academy, where she was responsible for molding the brains of young students.
Her passing was sincerely mourned by the community of the institution.

Not only did they remember her as a devoted educator, but they also recognized her as a graduate of East Feliciana High School in a message published to the public.
In the statement, her passing was described with a great deal of sadness, and the community was urged to pray for her family during this time of mourning.
JR was a truck driver by trade, but he had a deep-seated interest in sporting vehicles. Not only was he well-known for his passion for traveling, but he was also well-known for the stability he was establishing at home among Alexus and Gabriel.
In spite of the tragic circumstances surrounding their deaths, those who knew them claim that their love story is still ongoing.
It is carried on in Gabriel, their small son, who now carries the spirit of their dedication as he grows up beneath the care of both families. Gabriel is the embodiment of their commitment.
