Three mischievous old grannies were sitting on a bench outside a nursing home when an old grandpa walked by.
Three elderly women in red were calmly sitting on a bench outside their retirement house on a hot afternoon. Doris, Mabel and Ethel lived at home and were famous for playing simple naughty tricks on nurses and visitors alike.
As they shared tea and talked about bingo last weekend, a grandpa wearing a cane and carrying a newspaper proceeded to walk by them. He put on suspenders, polished shoes and seemed like someone very important — even overly so.
She tapped Sherri and Robin on the arm and grinned at them.
Hello, dear!” said she.
We’re sure we could tell you what job you had before you retired!
Grandpa turned around with a grin of amusement.
“Oh, really? I don’t believe that. I suppose you older ladies can’t possibly understand this!
Mabel winked.
That’s exactly what there is!” But I’ll need you to go like a dog and spin in a circle before anything else.
Grandpa cocked his eyebrows.
“What is the point of doing that?”
Ethel also said something.

The group of grannies talked secretively, with fake attentiveness — nodding, tapping their chins and even pulling out imaginary notebooks.
At the same time, they said loudly:

The two had the seniors laughing all around them. Doris cleared the tear on her cheek and added:

In other words: If you do something funny to three grannies with a lot of time and sharp eyes, that’s trouble!
