Maid Captures Millionaire’s Heart Days Before His Wedding — Story of the Day
When Simon brings his fiancée home, who wants to report Esme to immigration, Esme, who adores her boss, becomes upset. What occurs when Simon discovers he has been in love with Esme all along and she does call immigration?
At night, Esmeralda spent her time by herself, enjoying churros in her room and staying out of the main kitchen so as to avoid running with Simon’s fiancée, Rachel. Exasperated with the cultural shock of travelling abroad for maid employment, she considered going back home and thought back to her easier childhood with another older couple.

Although Rachel had hired a private chef, Esme’s present position at Simon’s estate was preferable because she didn’t have to cook. Rachel complained, but Esme thought Simon appreciated her. She penned a letter to her mother about her conflicted feelings as she was eating churros. Then her thoughts turned to Beatriz, another maid who was in love with Benjamin, her employer’s son.
The following morning, as Esme was in the kitchen, Simon came in and asked if she wanted coffee. As they talked about the changes since Rachel’s arrival, nostalgia persisted. Since Simon disliked the filter coffee served by the private chef, Esme volunteered to make him coffee every day if he got up early.
Simon assured her, “Esme, I will,” and her heart skipped a beat. She cherished him, but him? That was unknown to her.
Feeling conflicted, she pulled out butterscotch shortbread as a token of her affection.

Simon watched Esme, thinking about how things have changed since Rachel came. He thought back to his engagement meal and the lovely ambiance Esme had set, and he wanted to confide in her.
When his mother dispatched Esme to get extra napkins, she said, “She’s a lovely young woman.” “How were they found? She did a fantastic job tonight.”
“My secretary found an agency, and Esme was the person they sent,” he responded.
When Esme came back with the napkins, Simon persuaded her to “go and take the night off.”
“Why?” inquired his mother.
“The chef is coming with his crew. Esme has spent the entire day moving. “Let her enjoy the evening by herself,” Simon clarified.

Esme’s mother cautioned him not to ruin the family’s preparations after she departed, saying that Rachel and Simon’s wedding would bring together two influential families. Simon’s mother had suspected that he was in love with Esme.
Now, as Esme brought him coffee and shortbread, Simon battled his suppressed feelings. Esme left to take care of other duties before he could speak with her.
As Esme was dusting the sitting room, she heard that Rachel was being delivered to. She signed for the parcel, hoping Simon would give her a surprise. But she had to take a self-stop. She would never have Simon. After putting the package in Rachel’s room, she turned to go.

That night, Simon came home wanting to be alone with his wedding preparations. He wanted to spend this time with Esme. He discovered Esme in the kitchen, though, working with Rachel, who gave her the task of preparing Spanish custard tarts.
Rachel replied, “I’ve asked the chef to leave for the evening,” and Simon praised Esme’s cooking skills.
Esme felt glad as Rachel disappeared for a bath, and Simon grinned as she came back into the kitchen. He accepted that Esme would reheat dinner for him and they ate in the kitchen.
Later, in an attempt to finish before Rachel came back, Esme engaged herself in the baking of custard tarts. Simon, torn between his feelings, watched her longingly. Unspoken disappointments marked the night’s end.

The following day, Beatriz and Esme went shopping while wearing casual clothing. They talked about Beatriz and Benjamin’s friendship, and Benjamin’s wish to tell his parents about Simon’s engagement. Beatriz mentioned that she might be able to get immigration documents through a friend.
The thought of returning home gave Esme a wave of optimism. She was ecstatic at the prospect of going back and being with her family once more. A simple pleasure, corn on the cob, symbolised Esme and Beatriz’s common cultural bond.
With the idea of returning home, which had long seemed unattainable, Esme left the market with optimism.

Esme knew Rachel and Simon were probably out when she got back. After organising dinner and stocking the pantry, she changed back into her uniform and got to work cleaning.
She opened the package she’d received for Rachel and saw a gorgeous veil in Rachel and Simon’s room. She couldn’t help but try it on.
But something soft in the veil brushed against her fingers as she did so. She removed a note that was concealed inside.
When Esme saw that it was from a man named Michael—who appeared to be Rachel’s covert lover—and that it was written to Rachel, her eyes widened.
Abruptly, Rachel entered.
She shouted, “What are you doing?” as she snatched up the letter and shoved it into her dress pocket. She then gave Esme a slap after yanking the veil from her head.
“Darling!” Simon came in and Rachel screamed. “This immigrant woman wants to steal my veil and stop our wedding!” Rachel pretended to be innocent, but Esme knew she was lying to Simon. The letter made full note of it.

“Nah! The curtain…When I entered the room to dust, I noticed it here. Please, I couldn’t resist; it’s so gorgeous,” Esme defended herself. She was unable to disclose the letter to Simon. Esme needed this work since Rachel would just fire her and she needed to send money to her sick mother.
“Is all of this screaming over a veil? Really? In an attempt to defuse the tension, Simon exclaimed.
“Simon! This is my bridal veil! Every girl on the earth is aware that trying it on is unlucky for oneself.” Furious, Rachel threw the veil at Simon.
“Rachel, hurry up. All of that is merely superstition. Please don’t bother the poor little kid. Come with me below. Simon said, “Let’s eat something and forget about this whole thing.”
“Nah! Do you think I’ll forget about it? I can see how she views you.” Accusing, Rachel turned the debate into a personal assault.
“Hey Rachel, let’s stop! Sufficient!” Simon yelled.

“Are you seriously yelling at me now?” Rachel let out a scream. Then, trying to control things, she softened her look and addressed Simon, saying, “Don’t you see? Already, we are at odds over her.”
Knowing what had to be done, Esme stepped in and said, “Please, ma’am. I’d prefer not to.
“Go to your room right now!” Rachel gave her the command.
Fearing Rachel would become enraged, Esme ran to her room. However, as she was leaving, she tripped over the veil and fell to the ground. She closed her eyes, embarrassed and hurt. Rachel chuckled.
Simon blurted, “Hey, hey, hey,” and ran to her side. “Remain still. I’ll assist you.
Simon helped Esme to her feet, much to her relief. Rachel was enraged.
“Girl, get out of this house. “You’re fired,” said Rachel.

“What?!” Esme broke down. “Please say no! There is nowhere else I can go! I need this job, please.”
Simon reassured her, “No, don’t worry,” asking Rachel to challenge him.
Simon, choose a choice. Who is it, myself or her?” Rachel made a demand, escalating the argument.
“Sir, really, it’s okay, I’ll go,” Esme responded, attempting to defuse the situation. But before Rachel left, Esme had made up her mind to expose her. Because she loved Simon, she refused to allow him to wed Rachel.
Later, Rachel burst into Esme’s room while she was standing there. “Do you really think you can get away so easily?” Rachel made a threat.
“Ma’am?” Esme was taken aback.

“I’ve informed immigration services about you. Rachel said, “Get out,” and then she took off.
A few moments later, Esme heard sirens and became alarmed. She said, thinking of getting away, “Not the police!” However, the police were merely on patrol and weren’t there for her.
Esme needed to find the letter and give it to Simon.
She fled behind her door when she heard footsteps outside of it. She was still terrified that it was a police officer, and she unintentionally knocked a frame off the cabinet behind her. Luckily, Simon was the one in her room.
“Esmeralda, you’re here!” Behind the door, he discovered her. Simon told her, “Stay quiet, and I’ll take care of everything.”
Esme wanted him to know the truth, deep down. But she had no evidence.
“I’m not able to, Sir. Rachel has arrived,” fretted Esme. “She wouldn’t—”
“Esme, don’t be scared. Simon reassured her, “Just be quiet,” and then he left the room.

Esme sat there, praying that love rather than sympathy drove Simon’s actions. She wanted Simon to declare his love for her once before she went, even if she also intended to expose Rachel. Perhaps then everything would be different and she would stay. with Simon.
A few hours later, Simon brought a plate of food and a lily into her chamber. He expressed his mixed feelings about her departing and apologised for the wait.
“Why are you doing all this?” Esme asked.
Simon admitted, “I don’t know,” as he brushed a strand of her hair. “When you were leaving, I felt like something was being taken away from me, some part of me that I refused to be parted from.”
Esme sat on her bed and smelled the lily as Simon abruptly left. Did he love her too? Simon visited her for days, bringing food and lilies, and they developed a rhythm. When Esme inquired about the reason for his unexpected fondness for lilies, Simon acknowledged he connected her aroma to them.
He moved in to kiss Esme one day, but she resisted, aware that he was engaged to Rachel. After Rachel sent Esme out, Simon admitted he couldn’t handle her, which made it clear he was calling off Esme’s wedding.

Esme found it hard to believe. He also adored her! Simon had another startling realisation when Esme informed him about the letter right away: he already knew everything.
“I am aware of their covert meetings. Soon after she dismissed you, I found out everything, and I realised that I had to break up with her. You should not worry—I will reveal her. I’ll take action.
Esme dreamed about her ideal marriage to Simon as she dozed off. But her quiet moment was cut short when she woke up and saw Rachel trimming her lilies.
“So, he’s already your darling, huh?” With a playful jab, Rachel said that she had discovered Esme and Simon’s extramarital romance by smelling lilies on him. Rachel walked out of Esme’s room, threatening to ruin Simon’s life.
Hurrying after Rachel, Esme begged her not to damage Simon. Unfazed, Rachel said that it was too late and that she had already acted.

Simon burst into the hallway and saw Esme on the ground in front of Rachel. Simon believed it was time for Rachel to turn from her sins.
“I’m calling off the wedding, Rachel,” he yelled. “And I—”
“I’m okay with that. “Simon, I refuse to wed a criminal,” Rachel scoffed, crossing her arms. In addition, I enjoyed my sleep with you. You were good in bed, but since I now know that this maid touched you, I thought it would be best to discipline you both before I left.
Simon started to say that he knew she was having an affair, but he was interrupted by immigration officials coming in from behind. An officer said, “We got a call about an illegal immigrant at this residence.”

“There is a miscommunication. It’s untrue!” stated Simon.
“That is accurate, really. Rachel gestured to Esme, who was still on her knees, saying, “Here she is.” Additionally, you two will be seated next to each other in adjacent cells. You won’t be parted from me,” she mocked Simon.
Simon was notified by the officer of his arrest for hiring an undocumented immigrant.
Esme rushed forward, saying she had sneaked into his house, desperate to protect him. “Please, just let him go!” she begged the police.
“That is untrue. “She is lying,” urged Rachel. “Take them away.”
Simon realised it was time to let Esme know how he really felt. “It is not illegal for this woman to be here. I’m engaged to her,” he exclaimed.
“What?” Rachel yelled.

Esme happily accepted Simon’s proposal after he dug a ring box out of his pocket.
The officer asked, “Sir, if she’s your fiancée, who called us?”
Here it was—this insane woman. “She refuses to let us be alone,” Simon gestured to Rachel.
Simon and Esme cuddled as the police removed Rachel. Simon said that he made the decision to outwit Rachel and permanently get rid of her after learning of her intention to contact immigration. Glad to be with her boyfriend, Esme shed tears in his embrace.
After several months, Simon and Esme began a new life apart from the taint of Rachel’s influence. In order to prevent issues with immigration services, Simon assisted her with her immigration paperwork.
