What’s The Deal With Kate Middleton Not Being Seen Since Her Surgery?

Princess Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January, spending two weeks in the hospital, and is now recovering at home until at least the end of March. The nature of the surgery remains private, but the palace assures she’s doing well. Prince William temporarily retired from royal duties to support her and their three children. Kate aims to maintain normalcy for her kids, and despite concerns, she’ll likely stay out of the public eye until at least Easter.

At the end of the holiday season, Kate Middleton usually spends the month of January busy with royal duties. This year was different, though.

After a busy December and a Christmas trip with the royal family, Princess Kate and Prince William have kept a low profile in the first few weeks of 2024.

The Prince of Wales only went on one single outing. Then, on January 17, the palace said that the Princess of Wales, who is 42 years old, had planned surgery on her abdomen the day before.

She stayed in the hospital for almost two weeks before going home to heal. She is expected to be able to go back to public events after Easter.

Concerns about Princess Kate’s well-being have spread across the internet since Prince William abruptly withdrew from a tribute service for his late uncle on Tuesday. This has led to a wave of plot theories.

A palace source said that Kate “continues to be doing well” in her rehab, but there have been no new reports about the Princess of Wales. The only thing that is known is that the problem was not deadly.

King Charles, on the other hand, is having health problems and is rarely seen in public. The 75-year-old king had surgery last month to treat a swollen prostate.

On February 5, he announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer, though it is thought not to be prostate cancer. He hasn’t been seen in public, but he has been caught going to church with Queen Camilla.

Princess Kate Wants Things To Stay The Same For Her Three Kids.

Even though she was having surgery and getting better, Princess Kate clarified that she wanted Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to live as normally as possible.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” Kensington Palace said in their first statement. She hopes people will understand that she wants to keep things as normal as possible for her kids. To help his wife and kids, Prince William gave what he could by skipping his royal tasks.

Robert Hardman, who wrote The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, said, “We know they are a very close family unit and he wants to be there for them.”

“A lot of what they do with those kids is to make life normal for them so they don’t feel like they are in a bubble.” Along with loyal babysitter Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, the Prince of Wales was supposed to take care of the kids and help pick them up and drop them off at school.

“They are like a modern royal couple,” Hardman said. “In the past, there would have been more delegation.” He doesn’t want the nanny to do everything.

She Wants To Keep Things Private.

King Charles told everyone about both his surgery to remove a swollen prostate and his cancer diagnosis, but Princess Kate chose to keep it quiet.

The palace said at first that Kate “wishes that her personal medical information remain private” about her treatment.

The palace also said, “We will only give updates on Her Royal Highness’s progress when we have important new information to share.”

At first, it was said that Princess Kate would be in the hospital for 10 to 14 days after her surgery. On January 29, 13 days later, she was secretly freed. “The Princess of Wales has returned to her home in Windsor to keep healing from surgery.”

A message from Kensington Palace said, “She is making good progress.” The Prince and Princess would like to thank everyone at The London Clinic, especially the hardworking nurses, for the care they have given.

They also said, “The Wales family is still thankful for the well wishes they have received from people all over the world.”

The royal returned to her home on the Windsor estate, Adelaide Cottage. The palace says she will stay there to recover until at least the end of March.

A person close to the royal family said, “It makes sense to take the time.” People are often told to return to work as soon as possible, which can be harmful.

You set an excellent example for the rest of us. It is suitable for all of us that she is taking her time, getting better, and returning. That’s something we can all learn from.

During a service on February 7, Prince William said that two “amazing and kind” nurses were taking care of his wife.

The Princess of Wales went to Anmer Hall, her and Prince William’s home on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, while their kids were off from school in February. This was a good sign.

A source told the Daily Mail that Catherine is getting better. “She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William.”

Prince William Is Back To His Royal Responsibilities.

The Prince of Wales returned to royal work after being out of the public eye for a few weeks while Princess Kate was hospitalized and then at home recovering. On February 7, he held an investiture service at Windsor Castle and went to the London Air Ambulance Charity Gala Dinner.

During his speech at the event, Prince William said, “I’d also like to take this chance to thank you for the kind messages of support for Catherine and my father, especially in the last few days.” We all value it a lot.”

“It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather medical focus,” Prince William joked to keep them laughing. I thought I’d go to an air aid event to get away from it all!”

A friend of Prince William’s said, “He is coping remarkably well considering his wife had surgery and he only found out about his father’s news recently.”

During his kids’ school break, Prince William spent time with them and Kate in Norfolk. Since then, he has been to the BAFTAs, visited the offices of the British Red Cross, and held another investiture event.

Prince William said he was sorry that his wife wasn’t at the British version of the Oscars. Kate isn’t here, I’m sorry. “She does love the BAFTAs,” he said, adding that he hadn’t seen all of this year’s nominees because he had “other things on my mind.”

After the Princess of Wales’ surgery and healing, the palace said in its first statement, “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

The royal family usually attends church on Easter, but it’s still unclear if Kate will join in late March. It was the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales went to the event as a family of five because their youngest child, Prince Louis, was born that year.
