From Mockery to Reality: The Humbling Journey of a Gold Digger

Gold Digger Mocks Shop Assistant, but Life Hits Her Back

The last thing Sofia expects when she criticizes her former classmate Chloe, who works as a shop assistant, is to find her wealthy husband walking into the same store with a mistress. But Chloe finds a sinister scheme in store when he gives Sofia money to make up for his error.

Sofia ran into her former classmate Chloe, who was employed at the store, as she was looking through designer clothing. She contrasted her outfits to her own high-end pieces with a sly smile.

“Is that you, Chloe? I can’t believe you work in this hellhole, oh my goodness.” Her words were burning, but her tone was pleasant as she greeted.

Chloe gave a warm grin in spite of the evident jeering. “Hello, Sophia. I’m happy to see you! She enquired, “How are you?”

With her smile intact, Sofia performed a small spin around. “Best of all, baby!” she said, extending her hands to display her jewels. “I drive a Porsche, wear diamonds, go to parties, and enjoy life in general as always.”

Then, with a sigh, she shook her head at Chloe and expressed her regret. “I informed you! You too wouldn’t have needed to work if you had dressed nicely, styled your hair, and had some cosmetic surgery, Sofia continued.

Sofia instantly asked for coffee while Chloe tried to divert her attention by offering her some tea. To get the drink, Chloe called over Liam, another cashier.

But Sofia needed to brag once more. She gave the little child a quick finger snap. “I’ll have a latte made with skim milk and cream that is lactose-free. “Ensure it’s not excessively warm,” she commanded. Greetings? Do you hear me?”

Liam went to fetch the coffee after giving Chloe a knowing glance while maintaining their civility. Sofia returned her focus to Chloe and continued to critique.

“Chloe, believe me, I wasn’t going to come to this hellhole, but Tom got an urgent call from work,” she said. “Tom manages his own sizable business and sets his own hours, but—what am I getting at? You are incapable of understanding.”

Chloe kept nodding and grinning as she attempted to influence her former friend to choose them.

Liam brought her coffee, and Sofia said, “Anyway, in short, I decided to have some fun while he finishes his business, so I ended up here.” “It’s cold!”

Liam nearly dropped the coffee cup as she thrust it into his shirt. As soon as Chloe realized Sofia was going to go into another insulting tirade, she brought up the new collection and its exclusivity.

After Sofia stopped talking and gave Liam a pout, Chloe showed her the pieces by taking her to the higher floor.

Unexpectedly, a publicly loving couple strolled into the shop, making plans for the evening. The man’s rough voice was broken by some tender giggles as the woman, full of chirps, thanked him for delivering her groceries.

After observing them for a few while, Chloe offered Sofia another hat to try, but she quickly understood that Sofia had become icy and would not take off her existing hat. Sofia slapped Chloe’s hand away when she attempted to persuade her to look at the new one.

Chloe just had to make a tiny movement to see the tears welling up in her old classmate’s eyes. “Sofia, what’s going on?” With a pout, Chloe inquired, but an epiphany came to her. “That’s your husband, isn’t it?”

Sofia merely stood there, holding back her sobs and breathing laboriously. Her feelings were so different from the woman a few minutes ago.

“Aren’t you going to confront him?” Chloe enquired. “I thought you were stronger than this.”

“I am unable to. Everything belongs to him. Even my automobiles are registered in his name, and he has all the money,” Sofia muttered.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it obvious that he’s already tossed you aside?” Pointing to Tom’s open adoration for the other woman, Chloe made a comment. “Money is one thing, but he should at least respect your marriage.”

Sofia squared her shoulders and sniffed. She turned to face Chloe and said, “You’re right,” before storming downstairs.

“Tom!” With a loud voice that filled the whole store, Sophia exclaimed. “You are very daring! What is happening? “Who is this woman?”

Tom answered, “Um, listen, what are you doing here?,” his eyes widening like a deer caught in headlights. I assumed you were at your house.”

“Oh, I’m Melissa; nice to meet—” The woman standing next to him began, extending her hand.

“Keep your claws away from me!” Sofia cut him off.

Tom turned to his wife and sighed, urging Melissa to continue perusing the store. “Please, God! You’re causing a commotion! He yelled at Sofia, “I don’t need a scandal.

“I do not comprehend. How about our union? Are you indifferent to my feelings?

“Emotions? Are you crazy, come on? This ring has no significance,” Tom scoffed. “You are aware of that! I married you as an investment, and you wedded me primarily because of my wealth.”

“No!” Sofia retaliated. “I married you for love.”

“Jesus. Hurry up! “This relationship is solely beneficial,” he said, pulling out a gold card from his wallet. “Here, buy yourself something nice.”

Sofia became furious and hurled the gold card back towards his chest while yelling, “You can keep your stinking money! We’re through!” Then Chloe and she hurried outside.

Chloe comforted Sofia outside, offering her a place to stay and a job. You will overcome it. “If it’s alright with you, I can assist you,” she offered, giving Sofia a back pat.

“Chloe, I’m sorry. All Sophia could say was “I’m sorry,” but she gladly accepted Chloe’s assistance.

A few minutes later, Tom and Melissa abandoned the store, their date wrecked. After bringing Melissa home, he invited his closest friend Luke to his house. They talked about how losing Sofia would affect his ambitions and have unintended consequences.

“I can’t set her up to take the fall for the company’s financial eeh…creative moves if she divorces me,” said Tom. “That’s why I was spending so much money on her.”

Luke reassured him, “A gold digger is always good as long as there’s gold.” “She’ll return. She’s not had a job for years. She’ll come crawling to you as soon as she realizes how awful it is.”

“Maybe, but perhaps,” Tom said as he poured himself a hefty drink. “I could do something else.”

Sofia was welcomed over by Chloe, who told her to remain for however long she wished. But she had a secret that nobody else was aware of. That evening, Sofia became ill and had a terrible vomiting fit in the restroom when Chloe was already asleep.

For some reason, she only experienced morning sickness at night. How can I raise my child by myself? without any money? Though sad, Sofia assured herself she could pull it off. I can do it too, if others can. Correct?

After returning to her bed, she was taken aback to see that Tom had sent her a text. It said:

“Sophia. I apologize. I’ll send you $100 million to make it up to you. I would like to meet with you tomorrow to discuss this. I won’t stop you if you still want to go. I cherish you.”

She told Chloe the following morning, but she shook her head the whole time. “He’s telling lies. If I were you, I wouldn’t believe him—I have no idea what he’s up to.”

Sophia held onto hope, saying, “But that $100 million. What happens if he is real?

Before heading out of the house for work, Chloe informed her quite sternly, “Again, I wouldn’t meet him if I were you.”

Sofia exhaled and remained still, reflecting.

Tom came to find Chloe at work. She hoped that Sophia would not arrive just yet. A few minutes later, Chloe approached Tom as he was reaching for his phone. She reached for her own phone and clicked on a specific app, though she wasn’t sure if it would be useful.

“Once she signs the documents, it’ll be her head on the block, not mine,” remarked Tom. It’s time for her to make up for the large amount of money she also spent. What’s a short jail sentence?”

Despite not knowing who he was speaking to, Chloe discreetly gasped and kept listening.

“I can’t afford to face legal consequences, even though I was the one who carried out the fraud. I’m going to lose everything. Later, a few million will silence her,” Tom sighed into the phone. “I have to leave. She is present.

Not at all! Gazing at Sophie as she entered the store, Chloe considered. She glanced around for a moment, appearing to be a lost little child, but Tom came over and gave her a friendly greeting.

His voice became as smooth as velvet as they sat, “I pledge to make up for what I did, even though I realize it was horrible. Hold on, I have a document for you to sign. This is the reason I texted you.”

“What?” Sofia pondered.

Tom handed her some paperwork. “The moment you sign these documents, I’ll send the money straight into your account,” he said with a grin.

Sofia reached for the papers and began to scan them, but Chloe stopped her and nearly skidded across the floor to get them. She cried out, “Don’t do it!” and turned to face Tom. “I heard your conversation, and I refuse to allow Sophia to go to jail.”

Sophia listened in disbelief as Chloe revealed Tom’s schemes. “He will blame you for all of his false offenses if you sign the paperwork. You’ll serve time in jail instead of him,” Chloe clarified.

Tom looked like a puce person. “What on earth are you? Return to your work now! Sophia is telling lies! Why would I ever want to treat you in this way? He yelled, “I love you,” gesturing to his chest.

“I filmed him talking. He is unable to get—” Chloe persisted and dug out her phone to reveal that she had videotaped the exchange. Tom, however, assaulted her in an attempt to stop her from hitting play. As one hand reached for her hair to divert attention, the other struggled to grasp the gadget.

Even though Sophia was taken aback by his behavior, she jumped at the chance to assist Chloe.

“Release her! You are a dishonest piece of—”

Liam was among those who had gathered and attempted to talk Tom out of his relationship with Chloe. When he did, Chloe straightened, but her eyes were filled with determination. “The police have already been called and are in route. You’re going to prison, she declared with pride.

Tom attempted to flee, but he was too late. After making an arrest and removing Chloe’s phone as proof, they departed. The instant they were out of sight, Sofia broke down in tears.

Still breathing heavily, Chloe responded, “It’s okay, sweetie.” “You have nothing to worry about anymore.”

“I have nothing to worry about when the father of my child is going to jail for fraud?” she gasped.

“That’s absurd! How wise you are, Sophia. “You simply undervalue yourself,” Chloe urged, encircling Sofia in her arms. “Moreover, I’ll help you with whatever you need.”

Touching her stomach, Sofia nodded. Chloe was correct. She was capable of anything and was more than just Tom’s wife. She had to, for her child.
