Kevin Bacon, who turned 66 this year, is causing a stir on Instagram with a recent shirtless picture. Online, though, the image has caused disagreement among users.
Hollywood legend Kevin Bacon celebrated his birthday yesterday, July 8, by posting a shirtless picture to Instagram. Bacon is coming in hot with this new image. In honor of reaching 66 years old, the “Footloose” actor shared a photo of himself in bathing trunks.
The actor, who has previously made lightheartedly endearing remarks about his fitness and nutrition, has sparked conflict among internet fans who had differing reactions to what they saw. While some followers are attracted to his figure, others are not, and some have expressed their displeasure with the photo.
Bacon wore a black jacket over his shoulders and arms even though he was shirtless in the picture. He reclined on a rock, seemingly prepared for a day of leisure, while striking a pose and staring into the camera. The Hollywood star wrote, “This is 66. 🎂,” in his caption.
Proud to be married to the beautiful Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, an actress, gushed about her husband in the post’s comment area, writing, “Not too shabby! ❤️.” Sedgwick isn’t the only one who believes the actor still has it, based on the flurry of other encouraging remarks Bacon received.
A fan, surprised by Bacon’s youthful appearance at 66, screamed, “That’s insane!!” Another fan expressed the same appreciation, saying, “Wow!👏.” Someone on X joked that Bacon’s appearance may get a lot of attention from women, writing, “Ladies ladies ladies, line up.”
But some who weren’t delighted with Bacon’s photo took issue with him. “Put the shirt on old timer lol,” an Instagram user said. In response, someone else said, “This is not what I wanted to see.”
You appear to have been consuming an excessive amount of bacon. It’s time to work out and cut back on sugar and fat! [Happy] birthday… Time does not wait on anyone! [Gooo] [Until] you perspire [sic],” another person said.
Most people, including Sedgwick, believe Bacon looks fantastic at 66, despite the criticisms leveled at his appearance. The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star gave Bacon a heartfelt birthday tribute on Instagram in addition to the kind message she left beneath his birthday selfie.
She shared an Instagram Reel that began with a lovely old photo of her and Bacon before switching to a compilation of her own photos into a video. She posted, “If you were to ask me about bacon, I would say…” over a cute picture of Sedgwick holding a goat.
Following up on her assertion, Sedgwick’s film featured the text, “Bacon can be a delicious part of a balanced breakfast,” overlaid over an image of crispy, appetizing bacon.
The video then switched to another image of Sedgwick, smiling and appearing to be in a contemplative mood as she looked out to sea. “On a deeper level, though, I would say…” she wrote in this picture frame.
Sedgwick’s video concluded with the same endearing image of herself and her spouse that she had used for the Reel cover, along with some additional overlaid text that said, “(Kevin) Bacon is the love of my life, my only one, happy birthday!”
“The biggest fan of Bacon. Cheers to @kevinbacon’s birthday!” the devoted wife of the actor captioned her compilation video. Although her spouse no longer eats bacon, Sedgwick’s tongue-in-cheek reference to the dish and his last name is amusing.
I no longer eat pig or goat because I own pigs and goats instead. In 2023, Bacon revealed to a media outlet, “My wife is saying, ‘We can’t get any more animals, because you’re going to stop eating everything.'”
In addition to sharing personal details about his nutrition, the “Leave the World Behind” star has also talked about exercising and staying fit. On May 29, Bacon posted a funny video to Instagram detailing his experience of getting a dedicated exercise station on a set while working on a project.
Speaking to his fans while wearing a white t-shirt inside his trailer, Bacon remarked, “You know, you spend a lot of time on the set. The minimum duration for filming a TV show or movie is often 12 hours. Thus, it’s quite difficult to maintain your physical fitness, and there’s a lot of free food, which isn’t helpful.”
“And, you know, you look at these guys with these incredible bodies,” he revealed further. Really, bodies I could only imagine…Oh no. Okay, let’s remove that section. However, I tell myself, “I wish there was a gym on the set.” Some of these guys actually do, too.”
Bacon continued raving about the incredible exercise facilities that some production companies had set up for their performers on set. He revealed how, in an effort to maintain his physical fitness, he requested the project’s development team if they could also build him a gym.
“They succeeded. I decided to offer you a tour because I think it’s quite cool. All set?” Bacon made reference to. After that, he turned the camera to show his fans his “gym,” which was really only a single 15 kg kettlebell and two dumbbell weights. With a cheeky joke, Bacon concluded his humorous video by saying, “Tour’s over.”
Even though Kevin Bacon was merely kidding and being sarcastic in the previously mentioned video, it’s very obvious from his most recent shirtless selfie that the actor actually takes his health and fitness seriously.
