Dozens of Musk’s DOGE Employees Resign in One Day—Here’s Why

Dozens of Elon Musk’s DOGE employees resign in one day with scathing letter

A further reduction in the number of people employed by the government

It has been claimed that more than twenty employees from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have resigned from their roles, adding to the challenges that the government is facing in terms of its workforce.

He has requested that government workers return to in-office work and sent an email to over 2.3 million employees asking, “What did you do last week?” The director of the Department of Defense has been taking Donald Trump’s call to be “more aggressive” seriously. This comes after he has already gutted ministries such as USAID.

The tech billionaire issued a second ultimatum to federal employees, telling them that he will give them one more opportunity to respond to his email. This came after departments such as the FBI instructed their employees to disregard Musk’s email.

According to the Associated Press, more than twenty employees of DOGE have shown their dissatisfaction and resigned in a spectacular manner.

A total of twenty-one employees, representing a wide range of positions, including engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers, came together to sign the letter.

“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” they wrote collectively in the resignation letter that was so caustic.

“However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

In addition to pointing out plans to “dismantle critical public services,” they made the claim that individuals who have assisted President Trump and Elon Musk in reducing the workforce of the government are “political ideologues” who do not possess the necessary skills to take on the challenge that lies ahead of them.

These twenty-one originate from a department that was once known as the United States Digital Service and was founded during the administration of Barack Obama.

Before entering the government out of a feeling of duty to the general public, each of them held high-ranking positions at several technology corporations, including Amazon and Google.

According to reports, the former staff members were required to participate in interviews the day following President Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

These interviews were conducted with a number of young and unknown persons who were wearing visitors’ badges to the White House inauguration.

Several of these interviewers refused to identify themselves, asked questions about political loyalty, attempted to push colleagues against each other, and displayed limited technical ability, according to the staff members.

They also stated that they believed these individuals had limited technical understanding. Significant security vulnerabilities were developed as a result of this process.

This comes as a result of widespread criticism that Musk has hired a large number of young employees who lack the necessary skills to reduce the total amount of spending by the government by $2 trillion in an appropriate manner.

Regarding the 21 resignations, this is merely the top of the iceberg, which is far more than that. It appears that more than 75,000 federal employees have accepted the offer of a “deferred resignation,” while the United States Office of Personnel Management claims that more than 220,000 employees who were in the probationary phase have also been terminated from their positions.

That is not taking into account the fact that there have been layoffs in the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, at least seventeen inspectors general, and other departments.

There were recent jokes that an artificial intelligence video that was deemed inappropriate for work and could be viewed by employees at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (DOGE) was able to play on screens since the DOGE had terminated the tech staff.

For his response to the resignations of DOGE employees, Musk posted X and referred to the report as “fake news.” They were described to as “Dem political holdovers” by the head of the Department of Defense, who also stated that they “would have been fired had they not resigned.”

The jibes about it soon being only Musk and Trump left to control things in Washington in Washington are about to begin.
