New Video of Meghan and Harry’s Daughter Has Fans Talking

New Video of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Daughter Sparks Discussion About Her Hair

The Duchess of Sussex, who is thrilled about her new Netflix lifestyle series, had a charming playdate with her 3-year-old daughter and one of her best pals.

Meghan Markle just posted a video daughter Lilibet playing tennis with tennis great Serena Williams on her Instagram story. The most recent image of Meghan and Prince Harry’s daughter left some social media fans perplexed, wondering why her hair varied depending on her appearance.

The brief video shows Serena and Lilibet playing a board game at a wooden coffee table while being filmed from behind. During the match, the tennis player, wearing a bright fuchsia long-sleeved outfit, sat on a jute ottoman and grinned and applauded.

Lilibet stood on a woven rug with her red hair pulled back in a ponytail, contemplating her next course of action. She was dressed in a delicately flowered light pink attire. “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers played subtly in the background as the charming moment developed.

“The party starts in three days,” Meghan said on the post. Everyone is welcome. ❤️,” referring to the start of her cookery show, “With Love, Meghan,” which aired at midnight on March 4, 2025.

Online viewers immediately focused on Lilibet’s hair in the video, wondering why it didn’t seem as it did in earlier shots. “I thought Lilibet had curly hair,” one individual pondered. “..” “How come her hair is a different color from the last rare peek?” inquired another, who was taken aback by the apparent alteration.

“Why does it never ever look like the same child?” asked another spectator, pointing out the differences. The child transforms from a fiery redhead to a blonde. “What happened to the red curly hair?” said another, echoing the bewilderment.

“Why are both their kids have such a straight hair[sic]?” said another perplexed social media user. The question, “Where is her daughters waist length hair from a previous picture [sic]?” fueled more conjecture.

Since leaving the UK, Meghan and Prince Harry have continuously kept the lives of their children private. The couple gave followers a sweet look at their developing kids in December 2024, right before the holidays.

On December 16, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their 2024 holiday card, which immediately went viral online because to a sweet family photo with their three dogs.

The card’s focal point, a six-photo montage, featured a picture of Princess Lilibet, age three, and Prince Archie, age five, running excitedly toward their parents.

In the picture, Harry, 40, knelt down to greet Lilibet, whose red hair matched her brother’s, while Meghan, 43, was seen grinning broadly at Archie. Guy, Pula, and Momma Mia, the family’s cherished canines, were present to frame the picture.

“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions, and Archewell Foundation,” was another joyous statement on the card. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a good new year.

The card also included other images that showcased moments from Harry and Meghan Markle’s earlier-in-the-year excursions to Nigeria and Colombia.

The Sussexes made 2024’s holiday card especially memorable for their fans because they don’t often post pictures of their kids. As the family welcomed the holiday season, the private family moment provided a unique glimpse of Archie and Lilibet, who had grown up, sharing joy.

Fans also quickly shared their views and comments on social media, expressing their love and adoration for this picture.

One person commented, “Aww they both got Harry’s [sic] hair😍” on Instagram. Another person commented, “How adorable! Beautiful family. In response to the heartwarming family dynamic, one user wrote, “Princess Lili is definitely daddy’s girl 🥹.”

The siblings’ striking likeness to their father was praised by others, who commented, “beautiful [sic] family of redheads ❤️.”

An other admirer emphasized the most striking aspect of the endearing family portrait—”Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie’s hair 🥹.” One person noted that Lilibet had grown, saying, “Lilibet is nearly as tall as Archie. “❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

While providing this brief look, some admirers applauded the couple for their choice to protect the privacy of their kids. As one user put it: “Aw! The family portrait is really adorable! Although I would really like to see the kids more, I completely understand their desire to keep them out of the spotlight. With that red hair, those are unquestionably Harry’s children. With a concise addition, “Ginger ❤️❤️❤️😍❤️😍❤️.”

The attitude persisted on X (previously Twitter), when one user exclaimed, “The most beautiful redheads appeared [sic].”

Although the holiday card provided a new look at his kids, Harry has previously revealed endearing details about them. During his speech at the WellChild Awards, where he has been a patron for many years, Harry shared a sweet fact about Archie and Lilibet.

The father of two proudly revealed what the children got from their mother in the October 2024 issue of Hello! Magazine.

According to Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon, Hello!’s chief content officer, Harry informed them, “Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair, he told us, self-effacingly, as he marveled that it won’t be long until Lili can sit on hers.”

Vokes-Dudgeon added that Harry appeared at ease and hopeful about the next phase of his life. He said that acquaintances had told him that his forties were “the best decade” and praised Meghan’s steadfast support at home.

Harry revealed that in addition to the couple’s two kids, Meghan was occupied with their three dogs, whom he humorously referred to as “not quite house-trained.” Harry made lighthearted references to their poultry, adding to their busy family life and suggesting a vibrant dynamic in the home.

Vokes-Dudgeon said that Harry seemed “in his element” and incredibly fulfilled while talking about his children and his philanthropic efforts, despite his humorous comments. Unquestionably, he enjoys spending time with the families, kids, and professionals honored at the WellChild Awards.

The Sussexes’ children continue to be at the center of significant updates as they manage their family life while striking a balance between privacy and public interest.

Following their newly granted royal titles, the couple made headlines in February 2024 when they formally changed the last names of their children.

Previously going by the last name “Mountbatten-Windsor,” Archie and Lilibet adopted their royal titles as part of their official last names.

When King Charles III took the throne in 2022, he awarded his grandchildren the coveted titles of prince and princess, a gesture that Harry and Meghan found very endearing. Although they agreed to the titles, they weren’t utilized until much later.

When Lilibet was christened in March 2023, the titles were used for the first time, marking a public recognition of this incredible shift. On the royal family’s official website, the children’s names were subsequently changed to “Prince Archie of Sussex” and “Princess Lilibet of Sussex.”

As titles and territory designations frequently function as surnames, the choice of “Sussex” as the family’s surname is consistent with royal customs, thus enshrining the children’s royal heritage and their parents’ history in their names. In the royal family, whose names and titles are closely linked to identity and ancestry, this approach to surnames is in line with historical precedence.

According to the official royal website, paternal ancestry is frequently reflected in royal surnames. Nonetheless, the royal family has its own customs, and sovereigns usually take their father’s name for their “House.”

As demonstrated by the House of Windsor, this custom guarantees continuity and respects the family heritage. Members of the royal family, including Harry and Meghan’s offspring, would normally have the “Mountbatten-Windsor” surname unless a monarch opted to alter this custom. Harry and Meghan have since reversed this practice.
