Following a catastrophic accident involving his teenage daughter, the country music icon is turning to his religion and the support of his community as his family navigates a challenging period.
After his 16-year-old daughter, Savannah, was hospitalized due to a horrific accident, Darryl Worley is pleading with his fans and well-wishers for prayers. On Monday, November 18, 2024, Darryl, who is well-known for his popular song “Have You Forgotten?” posted the news on Facebook.
“I am respectfully approaching you all with a very important request! After performing in New Mexico, I’m taking a plane back to Nashville! Savannah was being life-flighted to Vanderbuilt Medical Center in Nashville [sic] after being involved in a serious accident, according to Kimberly’s phone call. The 60-year-old artist wrote.
“She has cuts, bruises, and a fractured leg! Please pray for her and for me to be able to return home to be with Kimberly and my baby girl! Pray for the woman in the other car as well! I just ask that you pray even if I don’t know anything about the accident! “Thank you!” Darryl said, adding a photo of himself and his daughter as well as images of two seriously damaged cars that were part of the collision.
The pictures showed how serious the collision was, with both cars suffering significant damage. Parts of the wheels seemed to have detached from the hit, and the automobiles’ bumpers and hoods were severely crumpled. Darryl’s wife, Kimberly Perkins, broke the heartbreaking news to him as he was traveling back to Nashville from a show in New Mexico.
The singer of “Awful Beautiful Life” gave an update on Tuesday, November 19, one day later, along with a picture of Savannah in a hospital bed. Despite his obvious weariness, the teenager had a small smile on his face. She was wearing blankets and had multiple medical gadgets attached to her. Darryl conveyed his appreciation for her advancement and his belief in her ongoing recuperation.
“My sunshine is up and wearing a small smile, even though it’s pouring today! Although the past few days have been difficult, we are certain that God is in charge and has protected Savannah throughout it all! “I don’t know when she will be able to return home, but today looks a lot better than yesterday or the day before!!” he wrote, emphasizing his daughter’s tenacity and his optimism for better times to come.
After the collision, Savannah and the other driver—a lady whose identity has not been made public—were evacuated to a hospital.
According to her daughter, Allison Hammock, the woman, who was operating the red vehicle in the accident images that Darryl provided, is in a serious but stable condition. “[My mother is] stable and alert,” Alison told the Daily Mail. Some procedures have been necessary for her. She was also airlifted.
Her daughter called the incident “an absolute nightmare” because of the extensive media coverage it has received. The accident apparently happened as the woman was traveling to work. Allison insisted that the incident was entirely unintentional despite the difficult circumstances.
An unexpected level of connection was added when Allison disclosed that she has been in communication with Savannah’s relatives. In the long run, we are related. She mentioned the families’ support for one another during this trying time by saying, “I’m in touch with her mother.”
As seen by a touching post he wrote in March to commemorate his adolescent daughter’s 16th birthday, Darryl has a close relationship with her. “To our daughter Savannah Gail, happy sweet sixteen! She is our go-to cowgirl for fishing, deer hunting, and horseback riding. She gets her love of fashion, cosmetics, and shoes from her mother, @theworleygirl, and she can be as frilly as they come! The loving father wrote, “Your mother and I are very proud of you.”

In a picture that featured a close-up of Kimberly’s bandaged arm sitting in what looked to be the hospital’s waiting room, he said, “She wants as many believers praying for her as we can muster.”
The country singer described the entire experience in another in-depth piece. He explained how, as soon as he heard of his wife’s injuries, he contacted close friends for medical assistance and made an appointment with a famous orthopedic trauma surgeon at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Kimberly had a successful surgery, and Darryl attributed her prompt care to his faith and the help of knowledgeable specialists.
“I am in awe and I sure don’t mind telling you why,” Darryl stated, reflecting on the assistance he received. I simply knew that without my presence to support her, my wife would have to endure another significant event. “[God] can always do immeasurably more than we can,” the Tennessee native said. I’m confident that [Kimberly] will emerge from this stronger than before. The person who made these arrangements is omniscient; I didn’t. I enjoy it when he arranges things for me.
